Neil Young Plans Free Concert in Ukraine Ahead of European Tour

Canadian music legend Neil Young is gearing up for a special performance in Ukraine before kicking off his European tour.
A Show for a Cause
Young announced on his website that he’s “currently in talks” to organize a free concert in the war-torn country, though details on the exact location and date remain unclear. His European tour with Chrome Hearts is set to begin on June 18 in Sweden, so the Ukraine show will likely happen before then.

The folk icon has been a longtime supporter of Ukraine and a vocal critic of former U.S. President Donald Trump. His announcement comes shortly after a tense meeting in the Oval Office between Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and U.S. Vice-President JD Vance, where the discussion on Ukraine’s future got heated.

Young’s wife, actress and activist Daryl Hannah, also made a statement of solidarity. While presenting at the Oscars, she flashed a peace sign and said “Slava Ukraine” (“Glory to Ukraine”).
