Are You a “Phubber”? Be Honest… Your Phone Knows 📱👀

If someone’s ever mid-sentence and you suddenly realize you’ve been scrolling… congrats, you might be a phubber.
Phubbing = phone + snubbing.
Translation: you’re physically there, but mentally deep in a group chat, TikTok spiral, or checking the weather for the 14th time today.

🚨 Signs You Might Be Guilty
- You say “uh huh” without knowing what you just agreed to
- You check your phone the second there’s a 2-second pause
- You’ve nodded along to a story you did not hear at all
No judgement… okay, a tiny bit.
📵 How to Break the Habit (Without Going Full Off-Grid)
1. Hide the phone like it owes you money
Out of sight = out of mind. Table = temptation.
2. Start small
Try no-phone meals. Yes, even at home. Yes, even during commercials. You’ll survive.
3. Say it out loud
Need to check something? Just say, “Hey, quick sec.” Way better than ghost-scrolling mid-convo.
4. Remember how it feels
When someone ignores you for their phone? That little “wow cool I’ll just sit here then” feeling? Yeah… that.
💡 The Bottom Line
Your texts will still be there in 10 minutes. The person sitting across from you might not be — at least not emotionally. So maybe… just maybe… give them your full attention.
(And then go back to your phone later like the rest of us 😅)
