R-Rated Fortune Cookies Accidentally Sent to the Wrong Restaurants

Some unsuspecting diners in Australia got a shock with their post-dinner treat recently, thanks to a mix-up with fortune cookies. A Vietnamese restaurant known for its custom R-rated fortunes ordered a batch for Valentine’s Day, but the cookie company accidentally sent those risqué cookies to other restaurants that expected normal, family-friendly fortunes.

As you can imagine, diners weren’t thrilled. While some fortunes were just cheeky, like, “You are capable of great things. But all you do is look at your phone all day. You won’t be that great. Sorry,” others crossed the line. One particularly brutal fortune read: “The year of the Snake bears good fortune! Your DIVORCE is coming soon.” It got worse by adding that their spouse “only married you for your money, you ugly [C-WORD].” Yikes.

The restaurant that placed the order only found out when the cookie company emailed them to say they were “done with swear words.” The owner clarified it wasn’t her fault but promised to stick to silly or even rude messages—just without profanity. After all, it seems that’s what got people riled up.
It might have made for a memorable Valentine’s Day, but not quite in the way anyone expected!
