There’s a new pop-comedy brewing and it’s already stacked with women who know exactly how to steal a scene.

Published February 18, 2026

Jennifer Coolidge and Nicole Scherzinger have officially signed on for Rebel Wilson’s upcoming comedy Girl Group, and the vibe already feels like equal parts glitter, chaos, and “we’re not done yet, thanks.”

Wilson teased the news on Instagram with a cheeky photo of herself, Coolidge, and Scherzinger together, joking that “the pussycat’s outta the bag.” Subtle? Never. Effective? Absolutely.

A comeback story with heels, heart, and probably some drama

Wilson isn’t just starring. She’s also directing and producing the film.

She plays a washed-up pop diva who gets booted from her own girl group’s reunion tour and ends up sentenced to court-ordered community service.

From there, she pivots hard and decides her next act will be mentoring a scrappy group of teen girls preparing for a major record label audition.

So yes, it’s giving underdog energy. It’s giving a redemption arc. It’s giving “she’s still got it” but with better jokes and louder outfits.

Details on Coolidge and Scherzinger’s characters are still hush-hush, but Scherzinger will reunite on screen with fellow former Pussycat Dolls member Ashley Roberts.

They’ll be part of the film’s fictional band “Girlfriends,” alongside Wilson. The lineup also pulls in Melanie Chisholm from the Spice Girls and Shaznay Lewis from All Saints, which basically means millennial nostalgia just punched the gas.

The cast is stacked

Beyond the pop royalty, the film also features Randall Park, Sheridan Smith, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Guz Khan, Jolene, and Loren Gray. Translation: comedy chops, music cred, and enough personality to power a reunion tour bus.

For women who grew up on girl-group anthems, watched pop icons evolve, and now appreciate a story about second chances and reinvention, this one feels tailor-made.

It’s not just about fame and sparkles. It’s about proving you’re still allowed to chase the spotlight, even after life tosses you off stage.

And honestly, if Jennifer Coolidge is involved, we already know one thing for sure.
There will be at least one line everyone quotes for the next decade.
