Sweethearts’ "Marry Me" Candy Hearts Are (Sort Of) Legally Binding This Year

Published January 30, 2025

Thinking of handing your crush a "Marry Me" candy heart this Valentine’s Day?

You might want to lawyer up—at least, that’s the joke Sweethearts is running within their latest ad campaign.

The iconic candy brand is claiming that their 2025 conversation hearts are legally binding—but don’t worry, they’re not actually forcing anyone to tie the knot. Instead, Sweethearts has launched a fun new interactive feature where you can scan their candy hearts with your phone to follow through on the message.

How It Works

Each heart leads to a different online service:
❤️ "Marry Me" → A site that helps you get married online.
🏠 "Move In" → A link to a moving company.
⚰️ "4Ever" → A site where you can (gulp) buy a heart-shaped gravestone.

CHECK IT OUT!

Okay, that last one is pretty dark, but hey—commitment is commitment.

No More Mixed Messages?

Last year, Sweethearts introduced “Situationship” hearts with blurry text, poking fun at undefined relationships. But a new poll suggests that over 80% of young people are done with unclear relationships, and a whopping 92% want people to just say what they mean.
