This Is The Exact Date To Put Up Your Christmas Tree Up
Ah, Christmas decorations. The twinkling lights, the festive cheer – they have a way of bringing a smile to even the grinchiest Grinch. But when it comes to decking the halls, the age-old question remains: when is it ACTUALLY okay to put up the tree?
Though some deck the halls as early as November, many feel that you have to wait until December to start decorating. However, according to the experts at Christmas Tree World (yes, that's a real place!), there is a perfect day to put up the trees and that is December 3rd at least this year.
That's because this date coincides with the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the Christian liturgical season leading up to Christmas. So, for the folks who like to follow a bit of holiday lore, this is the perfect time to appease both tradition and your inner Santa enthusiast.
Now, for the truly superstitious among us, a word of caution!
Legend has it that decorating before the Advent season might bring some bad luck. But hey, if you're not one to tempt fate (and you really want that tree up early), you can always string some fairy lights or put out a cute nativity scene – you know ... festive touches that don't quite count as full-blown holiday décor.
As for taking down the tree? Here, history offers a clear guideline. Traditionally, Christmas decorations stay up until after the "Twelve Days of Christmas," which ends on January 5th.
So there you have it, folks. December 3rd is your green light to bring on the holiday cheer this year. Now get out those ornaments, crank up the carols, and get ready to spread some festive joy!
