CANADA HAS FIVE FINALISTS FOR EUROVISION πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŽ€

Published October 28, 2026

Canada is officially preparing to make its Eurovision debut, and we've now narrowed down who could represent us to five artists.

The finalists are:

RΓͺve from Montreal, a Juno-winning dance-pop artist and longtime Eurovision superfan.

William Cloutier, a singer from Quebec.

Talk, the Ottawa pop-rock artist best known for Run Away to Mars.

Josiane, a singer-songwriter from New Brunswick.

And Tyler Shaw, the B.C. pop singer behind songs like Kiss Goodnight and With You.

CBC/Radio-Canada says a whopping 325 artists applied to become Canada's first-ever Eurovision representative.

Canadians will get to vote for their favourite, with the winner announced in December.

Whoever wins will then work with music-industry professionals to develop the song and performance they'll take to the competition.

Canada officially joins Eurovision in May 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria, becoming the first new country added since Australia in 2015.

And if you've never watched Eurovision, understand that this isn't just a singing competition.

It's singing...plus wind machines, sequins, fire, dancers dressed as wolves and occasionally a person playing a flute while suspended from the ceiling.

Basically, Canada needs to stop thinkingΒ β€œnice song” and start thinking:

β€œCould we somehow get a moose into a bedazzled bodysuit?”
