Would You Let AI Interview You for a Job? More People Are Open to It

In an era where artificial intelligence is becoming a bigger part of daily life, job interviews may soon be added to AI’s growing résumé.
A recent Newsweek survey conducted by Talker Research found that while many Americans are still hesitant about AI-led interviews, the concept is gaining acceptance. About 32% of respondents said they’d be comfortable with an AI handling the interview process.

However, 43% said they would prefer human-led interviews, drawing the line at allowing AI to take over such an important task. Meanwhile, 26% of survey-takers are undecided, not sure what an AI-led interview would even look like.
Unsurprisingly, comfort levels with AI varied by generation. Baby boomers were the least likely to approve of AI conducting interviews, with 56% saying they were uncomfortable. Gen X wasn’t far behind, with 40% feeling uneasy about AI taking the reins.
As AI continues to evolve, it’s clear that people’s opinions are still developing on how much control they’re willing to give to tech—especially when it comes to landing a new job.
