That age-old stereotype that states if a black cat crosses you, it’s bad luck may not hold much weight anymore.

New research suggests it’s actually twice as likely to bring you good luck!

According to a recent survey of 2,000 cat owners, only 21% believe that black cats bring bad luck, while twice as many (41%) associate them with good luck instead.

But at least one pop culture stereotype does hold true  – black cats really do love to talk.  Almost half of the black cat owners say that their pet is super vocal.

Black cat owners also consider their pets to be very affectionate.

Black cats are more likely to be indoor cats, compared to other breeds.

1 in 4 black cat owners describe themselves as “extremely quirky” and are more likely to favour Halloween over any other Holiday.

The poll was done in advance of National Black Cat Day On October 27th.
