Cybercrime Crew Busted for Reselling Stolen Taylor Swift Tickets

Published March 5, 2025

It turns out getting Taylor Swift tickets wasn’t just tough for fans—it was also a goldmine for cybercriminals.

Prosecutors in New York revealed that a cybercrime ring stole and resold more than 900 digital tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour, as well as Adele and Ed Sheeran concerts, NBA games, and the U.S. Open.

Here’s how they pulled it off:
💻 Scammers working in Jamaica (for a firm contracted by StubHub) stole ticket URLs from legit buyers
📩 They sent those URLs to accomplices in New York, who downloaded and resold them at jacked-up prices
💰 The scheme made them over $600,000 between June 2022 and July 2023
