Elton John & Brandi Carlile Team Up for Surprise Album

Published February 6, 2025

Sir Elton John and Brandi Carlile are joining forces for a brand-new studio album, Who Believes In Angels?—and it’s arriving sooner than you think.

Elton revealed that the project was written and recorded in just 20 days, calling it “one of the toughest, but also greatest musical experiences of my life.” The album, set for release on April 4, features songs led by both artists, with lyrics from John’s longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin and Carlile.

🎶 Who’s on the album?

  • Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums
  • Pino Palladino (Nine Inch Nails, John Mayer Trio) on bass
  • Josh Klinghoffer (ex-Chili Peppers) on guitar
  • Andrew Watt as producer

The project comes right as Elton and Brandi’s song “Never Too Late” (from Elton John: Never Too Late) is nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars.

For the first time ever, Elton let cameras film his writing and recording process, and a short documentary about the album is already out.
