Japanese Fan Under Investigation for Kissing BTS’s Jin Without Consent

A Japanese woman is facing possible harassment charges after allegedly kissing BTS member Jin without his consent at a fan event last year, South Korean authorities confirmed to the Associated Press on Friday.
The incident took place at Jin’s free hug event in Seoul in June 2024. The 32-year-old K-pop star hosted the event to celebrate both his return from mandatory military service and BTS’s 11th anniversary. However, what was meant to be a heartfelt reunion with fans took an uncomfortable turn when the woman reportedly kissed Jin without permission.
Police at Seoul’s Songpa station have summoned the woman for questioning following an online complaint.
This isn’t the first time BTS members have made headlines outside of music. Last year, fellow member Suga was caught violating traffic laws after riding an electric scooter while intoxicated. He later issued a formal apology.
