Kendrick Lamar Just Used His Super Bowl Halftime Show to Flex on Drake (Again)

Published February 10, 2025

If you thought Kendrick Lamar would let his historic Grammy-winning diss track Not Like Us sit on the sidelines during his Super Bowl halftime show—think again.

Fresh off winning five Grammys last weekend (including one for the most decorated rap song in Grammy history), Kendrick hit the Caesars Superdome stage in New Orleans and ensured Not Like Us got its moment under the brightest lights. And yes, Drake—currently on tour in Australia and tied up in a lawsuit over the track—was nowhere to be found.

A Halftime Show With Serious Energy

Lamar took the stage in a blue varsity jacket, backward baseball hat, classic jeans, and white sneakers, giving early 2000s college nostalgia. Around his neck? A huge “A” chain, because subtlety is not the theme here.

The first “guest appearance” of the night? Samuel L. Jackson dressed as Uncle Sam—because why not?

Lamar’s no stranger to the Super Bowl stage—he was part of the iconic 2022 halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige, which even snagged an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special. But this time? It was his show, and he made sure everyone knew it.
