Sheryl Crow Sells Tesla in Protest Against Elon Musk and Supports NPR

Sheryl Crow has made a bold statement by selling her Tesla and donating the proceeds to NPR amid political controversy.
The country music star shared the news on Instagram, posting a video of the car being towed and explaining her decision to part ways with the electric vehicle brand.
“My parents always said… you are who you hang out with,” Crow wrote. “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.”
This move comes after former President Trump ramped up criticism of public broadcasters like NPR and PBS, claiming they have a liberal bias.
Despite these accusations, federal funding only makes up a small percentage of NPR’s budget, which is primarily supported by private sponsorships and listener donations.
Earlier in the month, Elon Musk, now overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency, reportedly called for NPR to be “defunded.” Crow, a vocal critic of Trump and Musk’s administration, responded fiercely, expressing her support for the news outlet.
“Money donated to @NPR, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth,” Crow added.
The singer’s protest highlights her dedication to freedom of the press and transparency, and it’s a stance that’s resonating with many of her fans.
