Steve Carell Surprises SoCal High School Students with Free Prom Tickets

Published March 6, 2025

Steve Carell just proved he’s not only a Hollywood star but also a real-life good guy.

The Office actor is covering the cost of prom tickets for Southern California high school seniors affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

A Generous Surprise

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Carell announced that he’s teaming up with Alice’s Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children in need, to fund prom tickets for six Pasadena high schools.

“If you’ve already paid for your tickets, they’ll reimburse you,” Carell assured students.

Supporting Wildfire Victims

The recent wildfires in LA have been catastrophic, destroying more than 16,000 homes, businesses, and schools. The Pacific Palisades and Altadena areas were hit especially hard, displacing thousands of students and families.

Prom for Over 800 Students

Alice’s Kids is donating about $175,000 to cover prom tickets for over 800 seniors. With tickets ranging from $100 to $150, this is a huge relief for families already dealing with so much.

More Than Just Prom

Carell has been actively supporting wildfire relief efforts, including playing in the “Skate for LA Strong” hockey tournament last week to help raise money for victims.

Safe to say, Michael Scott would approve.
