Gas Prices Could Rise 2-5 Cents/Litre Tonight

Should you get in line?

A gas pipeline explosion in northern Alabama on Monday is expected to impact the price at the pump tonight – but maybe not as much as expected. There had been talk the other day of a nickel a litre hike, now it may be just a couple of cents (do the math, 5-cents a litre in a 60-litre tank means an extra $3). Owners of the pipeline think they can have the line fixed by the weekend meaning the impact on supply will be a lot less than first thought. It’s the second time in as many months the line has had to be shut down.
