American Idol went out in style last night….

The show opened with a harmonizing chorus of white-clad winners and contenders including Scotty McCreery, Taylor Hicks and Diana DeGarmo. Other familiar faces from years past popped up in solos and group numbers, including Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, David Cook, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks and Kimberley Locke. Kelly Clarkson, who’s expecting her second child soon, appeared in a pre-taped performance. Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson showed up to salute Ryan Seacrest for his longevity, with Simon Cowell strolling on stage belatedly to steal the spotlight. Here’s where it got weird and desperate:President Barack Obama was the unexpected opening act. In apparently pre-taped remarks, Obama congratulated the show on its long run and noted that it motivated millions of young people to vote for contestants. Then he made a pitch for Americans to demonstrate that same eagerness at the polls, calling voting the most fundamental and sacred rite of democracy.

No Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are NOT moving back in together.…But the ex couple continue to put their children first. As Ben prepares for his upcoming film, Justice League, in London, a source tells E! News that the pair will be taking their kids, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4, abroad for a month during filming. While they won’t be living together, sources reveal that Jen and the kids plan on visiting Ben as often as they can.

Never doubt the power of Taylor Swift. After Taylor face planted while listening to Drake’s ‘Jumpman’ in an Apple Music ad, sales of the track have risen 431% globally. The commercial premiered on Taylor’s Instagram last Friday, and has been viewed over 20 million times on Facebook and Instagram. Billboard also reports that, “two additional spots with Swift are planned over the coming weeks, and the singer will also star in a bigger Apple Music campaign in the next few months.”
