Gilford Wife Ordered Out Of Home After Alleged Assault

Husband Reports She Struck Him and His Pickup

A Gilford woman has been ordered to stay away from her husband for a while, after a call to South Simcoe Police. Officers were called out to the couple’s home yesterday, to be greeted by a man who said his wife assaulted him. He told police she’d been drinking all day, and insulting his sister over the Internet. When he confronted her about it, she allegedly punched him in the head a few times, and hit him with a cell phone. After he took off, she allegedly smashed his truck’s windshield and dented the hood. A 28-year-old woman has been ordered to reside elsewhere while she waits for her day in court to answer to charges of Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Mischief. The husband didn’t require medical attention.
