The 2024 Oscars Best Original Song and Score Shortlists Announced!

Include Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and more

Also Olivia Rodrigo for Song, Mark Ronson for Score, and Jon Batiste for both!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has officially unveiled the shortlists for several categories for the upcoming 2024 Academy Awards, otherwise known as The Oscars.

So… who’s on this year’s list of contenders vying for Best Original Song and Best Original Score nominations?

To absolutely no surprise to anyone — both Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish made the list for their Barbie movie songs “Dance The Night” and “What Was I Made For?” respectively (even Ryan Gosling made the list). As well as Olivia Rodrigo for her contribution to the Hunger Games prequel soundtrack with, “Can’t Catch Me Now.” Also on the list — Jon Batiste for “It Never Went Away” from his documentary American Symphony.

As well as Metro Boomin, A$AP Rocky & Roisee for “Am I Dreaming” from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Fantasia for “Superpower (I)” from The Color Purple, and more.

P.S. — The official list of nominees will be revealed on January 23, and the 96th Academy Awards will take place on March 10, during which, as always, all Best Song nominees will perform during the ceremony.
