Le Chateau Closing A Few Doors
Sales off more than 5% last year
Montreal-based clothing store Le Chateau is planning to close 14 locations this year, as many as 40 in the next three years, as it recalibrates its brand. Sales were off $236M last year, but online sales rose 34% so there will be a shift to more online shopping. As of the end of January there were 211 Le Chateau stores in Canada, including one at Georgian Mall.
