Stand With Standing Rock In Barrie

A rally in Barrie Saturday, to stand with Standing Rock. A peaceful rally expected Saturday, in an effort to raise awareness over Standing Rock, North Dakota, where protesters have been standing in opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline. Plans for the oil pipeline carry it through sacred Native American land. “Although this is not happening in our own backyard, it could be in anyone’s backyard.” says event organizer Shane Dennis, “It is a pinnacle time for people around the world to stand up for human rights and to come together for solutions toward the environmental catastrophes we are all facing.” The rally in Barrie starts at the Unity Market on Toronto St. at 10:00 Saturday morning.
