The Giant Panda is no longer considered an endangered species. The International Union for Conservation of Nature say it is now classified as ‘vulnerable’ reflecting its growing numbers in the wilds of southern China. The group warns, however, with climate change eliminating its natural bamboo habitat panda numbers could once again go into decline. China’s government has discounted the new classification, saying it did not view the status of the country’s beloved symbol as any less serious. Click here to read more on this story.
