One Charged Outside RIDE Check in Southern Georgian Bay

No Charges Laid During Two RIDE Checks

Some good news out of Penetanguishene. Southern Georgian Bay OPP say they held two RIDE checks in town over the weekend, one late Saturday evening, other other first thing Sunday morning. Of the 180 vehicles police stopped at both locations, they say not a single ticket was written up. Police from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment did make one Drunk Driving arrest however, outside of their RIDE check. Around 2:00 Friday morning, OPP in Midland say they stopped a car over some odd driving behaviour on Highway 93 and Golf Link Road. Following a roadside test, a 42-year-old man has been charged with not only Drunk Driving, but also Driving without Licence or Insurance. He’ll be in Midland court early next month.
